Soul Searching Girl is Back! Faith Crisis Journey ~ Ex Mormon

I am so happy to have revived my Soul Searching Girl youtube channel. If you read my last weeks blog you are aware of what I am doing. Well, here is the official vlog announcing more to come.

I feel very strongly that there is work to do. Those of us who have gone through such a "faith crisis" will know what I am talking about.

I am looking forward to exploring all sorts of topics that will help us heal.

Thank you for being here. YOU are not alone.

Make sure you are on my email list. You will find the link on the bottom of my home page. I plan on being around awhile, I hope you will too.

I was raised Mormon from birth I’m 47 now. I have had times of inactivity in the church, because certain things the church teaches have always bothered me. I’m gay so that along with my questions dont help and make me question my faith. I believe in God and spirituality I just don’t believe I have to go sit in a church for 3 hours to be spiritual or even just a good and worthy person. I found your video touching keep doing what your doing. And enjoy life. Thanks

Hi Amy. I read George D. Smiths Nauvoo Poligamy back in 2008 along with Grant Palmers Insider View of Mormon Origins along with Fawn Brodie and along with Studies Of The Book of Mormon by B.H. Roberts along with several other books and about half of the Joseph Smith Papers. My testimony or my so called testimony is gone. I have been inactive in the LDS church since 2008. People keep asking if I am going back and I tell them that I can’t go back. ALSO, the micromanagement side of Mormonism has always bothered me. JUST WANT TO SAY I ENJOYED YOUR POST THANK YOU FROM DAVE IN ST GEORGE UT

    Hi Amy,
I have been struggling with losing my faith in the LDS church for awhile. I look online to find support but do not like it when people are just trying to bash the church. I do however, like to talk to others who are going through the feelings I am. I enjoyed your video and it seemned you were not trying to be anti-mormon but to help others. Basically I am not looking to prove it is not true. I am looking to deal with all the feelings I am going through that it is not. Please let me know how to get help. TY

I ran across your videos on YouTube. I find them very interesting. I am going to try to make a very long story short. I have COPD. I had no one to stay with and did not want to give my little disability check to a nursing home. I end up moving in with my male cousin. He turned out to be Mormon. Which is fine. He had the sisters come and visit me. The first time they came out they had already set a date for me to be baptized. When I told her I already had been baptized as a Southern Baptist, she began to cry. I really didn’t understand why?
I look forward to reading your blog. Thanks

    Hi Janine,

Thank you for your comment. I just saw this today! I am great! Just a lot going on in my life and trying to keep all the balls in the air. I am sure you know how that goes. How about you email me at soulcandyco@gmail.com. I would be happy to talk with you. I know how difficult this road can be to navigate. Thanks for your patience with me! Ohhh, and my son just left on a mission. So, yeah, lots going on. Much love, Amy xo

Hi Amy. This is the most recent entry I’ve seen from you, six months ago. Is everything OK? Are you still pursuing the path of helping others adjust to leaving the LDS Church? I would like to share my story with you; I need a “Mormon” friend to talk to, but I don’t know anyone who would hear me out. Please respond if you are in a position to read a long email from me.
